Cultivating collective praxis for scholarly transformation and racial justice: The Critical Race Theory collective’s introduction to the special issue

This special issue launches from the challenges of white supremacy within Library and Information Studies (LIS) demonizing Critical Race Theory (CRT) American British societies. To address these through a commitment to practice as well theory, editorial team for this publication was formed tackle head on how racialised knowledge justice issues can also manifest in scholarly publishing spheres. is collective (CRTc): an international community scholars, practitioners activists working at intersections race, libraries, archives, information education. extended introduction split into two parts that describe respectively process product issue. Part One charts national contexts CRTc praxis US UK, outlines community-building, restorative pedagogical principles lessons have (in)formed developmental process. Two papers constitute issue: contributions authors interdisciplinary backgrounds who apply CRT frameworks LIS discourse practice. Together, demonstrate scholar-activist underpinnings address, challenge, resist, interrupt, ideally reverse pushback against all forms culturally conscious justice, especially racial justice.
